Winter Swimming
Fun Winter Swims & Stolls
Fun monthly swims and walks in different locations around the Jurassic Coast. All abilities are welcome with wetsuits or skins. These swims are about enjoying all that the sea has to offer during the winter, amongst a group of like minded people and under the supervision of open water swimming coaches and lifeguards.
Distances will vary according to group abilities and the sea temperature. All sessions will include a safety briefing before swimming or dipping followed by hot chocolate and cake and a short walk to warm up afterwards. Often we will walk a bit further to access different swim spots that you might not go to otherwise. These swims are designed to encourage you to keep swimming through the slightly less inviting winter months.

Our forest and beach school leader will take you on nature connection walks and activities to discover the unique flora and fauna of the island such as the red squirrels, who will be particularly active hording food for winter. Our fitness & wellbeing coach will lead sessions in yoga, walking Tai-Chi, meditation and breathwork. Activities which encourage you in different ways to calm your mind, heal your body and find your balance. Further information on all the activities offered can be found below.
The island is closed to the public, so this is a very special opportunity to explore all that Brownsea Island offers in the Autumn.
The accommodation in the Bunkhouse is shared rooms with bunkbeds/single beds available. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag and yoga mat. All food is provided for the weekend.
We will embrace whatever Mother Nature throws at us this weekend, so expect, spontaneous swims, walks and wellbeing sessions with plenty of cake to be consumed at regular intervals.
