Equipment

Please make sure that you bring everything you may need to enjoy your swim/weekend with us. A kit list will be sent to you prior to the swim, better to be prepared and leave extra in the car than not have something essential. Please always bring a water bottle withy you to swims. Dehydration can occur even on colder days and we will be walking sometimes steep hills. thirst can cause cramp, not a swimmers friend!

Safety

Please be aware that you must be comfortable swimming in cold water. Temperatures will range from 11.5 to 16.5 depending on the date of your swim. Wetsuits are recommended, although by no means compulsory if you are an acclimatised skins swimmer. Tow floats are compulsory. There will be safety kayakers and lifeguards on the water with you. Please note this is a guided swim and not a race. We will have different swim groups based on speed, but you MUST stick with your safety kayaker at all times.

Please also note that the walks can be challenging at times so if you have any mobility issues please let us know as some of the paths can be rough and uneven with steep steps etc..

Swim dates

Please see individual distances. Individual and private groups of swimmers can also be accommodated.

Start times are approximate and may be subject to change to make the most of tides.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation, these swims may well be cancelled, postponed or changed in some way.

Extra information

There will be a maximum of 15 swimmers per swim. Swim hats will be provided. Clothing, dryrobes, shoes etc for the walk will be transported in the kayaks, so please keep it to essentials. Further information will be sent to you prior to the swim, but please ask if there's anything else you would like to know. 16+ age limit is recommended on this swim, family swims are also available, please ask if you are interested.

Weather Caveat

Due to the nature and location of the swims we may need to postpone for safety reasons. You will be given a choice of another date to do the swim (subject to availability). We will give as much notice as possible before cancelling a trip, but due to the great British weather, last minute changes can occur. We also reserve the right to change the location of the swim to ensure everyone's safety. If there is a named storm that effects the area we are due to swim in, we will cancel automatically.

Health and fitness

Please let us know, if once you have filled in the health questionnaire, anything changes. It is your responsibility to disclose anything that may effect your safety in the water. Fitness is key on these swims so if you aren't feeling well enough please let us know. It is also essential that you are fit and acclimatised enough to do the swim you are entered on. Sea swim experience is essential, these are NOT swims for beginners unless advertised as such. Please respect the fact that we are there to keep EVERYONE safe and if the safety crew are taken up with people who are not acclimatised to sea swimming, they may be unable to attend emergencies.
