Brownsea Island Swim

Service Description

Fantastic swim around Brownsea Island on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. We will get a RIB boat from Studland and be dropped in the water to start our swim. Swimming with the tide (which can be pretty fast in Poole Harbour) we will follow the North Shore and see the land and beaches by the Bird Reserve which you can't usually see or access due to nesting birds. We may take a short break at the west end of the island, just to catch our breathe, and then along to Pottery Pier and down the shallow but pretty South side of the Island. The swim is about 6k in total and is an intermediate level swim. You must be comfortable being in the water for up to 2.5 hours (we should do it in 2 with the tidal flow) minimum speed of 2.5k/hour and wetsuits are recommended as the sea is still cold in June. We will then have some cake and hot chocolate on the beach before getting back on the RIB and back to Studland Beach
