Brownsea Island Swim
Full or half Island Swim with sauna, 4th July
Service Description
Fantastic swim around Brownsea Island on the edge of the Jurassic Coast. We will get a RIB boat from Studland and be dropped in the water to start our swim, or stay on the RIB if doing the half Island swim. Swimming with the tide (which can be pretty fast in Poole Harbour) we will follow the North Shore and see the land and beaches by the Bird Reserve which you can't usually see or access due to nesting birds. We will take a short break at the west end of the island, to catch our breath, and allow the other swimmers to join us, then along to Pottery Pier and down the shallow but pretty South side of the Island. The swim is about 6k in total and is an intermediate level swim. You must be comfortable being in the water for up to 2.5 hours (we should do it in 2 with the tidal flow) minimum speed of 2.2k/hour. We will then get back on the RIB and head back to Studland Beach for some cake and hot chocolate. Finish the afternoon off with a sauna on the beach to relax those tired muscles.
