Swim Weekends 2026

The Ultimate Jurassic Swim | Long Distance Training Weekend | Brownsea Bunkhouse Retreat | The Jurassic Explorer Swim | Brownsea Island Summer Solstice Camping

17th-19th July 2026

18k over 3 days

The ultimate swim adventure, over 3 days, swimming from Weymouth to Worbarrow Bay including Ringstead, Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove (subject to weather & sea conditions. Plans B & C will be equally scenic)

The swims will be split into Day 1, 5k, Day 2, 2x4k and Day 3, 5k.

Please see the link here for the proposed route,

We will have 3 swim pods of fast, medium and steady each with their own safety crew. This should ensure everyone gets to swim at their own pace without too many stops, although as always with JCS swims, the idea is to enjoy your surroundings and not race from A to B.

You MUST be an experienced sea swimmer and able to swim about 2.5k/hr or faster in open water.  Proof will be required. If you are unsure, please do ask. Swim experience is more important than speed.

This is a completely unique experience, so please do come and join us for this fantastic Adventure on the Jurassic Coast. If the distance is a little daunting, please look at our Ultimate Explorer Swim, 10k over 3 days.

Accommodation is not provided as we feel everyone is different and some will prefer to camp and others will prefer the more comfy prospect of a hotel. If you base yourself around Durdle Door and Lulworth this will be ideal. If we need to change the swim route you will still be fairly central. We will provide cake and hot chocolate at the end of every swim and some gels and healthy snacks for mid point on day 2. We will invite you to join us on the Saturday night for a pub meal (extra cost) to relax and chat with crew and other swimmers.

Training plans, nutritional advice, zoom chats and general help to assist you to train for this event will also be available.

7th-9th August 2026

This swim weekend is all about going the distance. Pushing yourself to swim a little further while enjoying the stunning surroundings of the Jurassic Coast. This part of the UK is perfect for training for those longer distance swims, as we have coastline facing in different directions, so we can always swim somewhere. It is not a boot camp, our ethos as always is to have fun while doing something you love.

Friday afternoon: An introductory workshop followed by a coaching session. There will be experienced open water coaches on hand to give you some tips and advice for you to work on throughout the weekend. Post swim we will have a fish n chip supper (provided by us) before retiring to your accommodation.

Saturday: We will meet in Weymouth for breakfast and a workshop before heading to the beach for our first swim session. We will aim to do a 1-2 hour swim in the morning, have lunch at a café and finish the day with a further 60-90 minute swim (optional).

Sunday, the big one! We will meet for breakfast and our final workshop. We  do a 5-8km swim (your choice) followed by a relaxing beach sauna to help restore those muscles, along with a final Q & A session where you can ask any questions and consolidate what you have learnt over the weekend.

The workshops will cover nutrition & hydration, strength & flexibility training, mental resilience and other practical aspects of a long distance swim.

Highlights:

  • Expert swim coaching from coaches who have done marathon & endurance swims themselves

  • Breakfast meetings and workshops Saturday and Sunday

  • Stunning locations to swim in

  • Beach sauna Sunday afternoon

  • Relaxed atmosphere for you to get the most out of YOUR training

  • The opportunity to swim between 10km and 18km over the 3 days

  • Professional guides, lifeguards & coaches supporting you every step of the way

  • Accommodation not included this year as some people prefer a comfy bed and others a tent!

So if you are wanting to swim the Ultraswim 33.3 Greece or Montenegro, Lake Windemere, the English Channel, Dart 10k or simply want to spend 3 days swimming this fantastic area, come and join us.

Cost includes all swims, Friday evening fish n chips, sauna, workshops, breakfast Saturday & Sunday, rib transport, swim coaching and the all important expertise of the Jurassic Coast Swimming Safety Crew.

4th-6th September 2026

10k over 3 days

An epic swim adventure over 3 days, covering around 10k in total. We will endeavour to do a point to point swim over the 3 days and cover the section of coast from Ringstead Bay to Lulworth Cove, including Durdle Door and Mupe Bay (subject to weather & sea conditions. Plans B & C will be equally scenic)

The swims will be split in day 1, 2-3k, day 2 5k with 30-60 minute break and day 3 2-3k.

There will be 3 swim pods of fast, medium and steady each with their own safety crew. This should ensure everyone gets to swim at their own pace without too many stops, although as always with JCS swims, the idea is to enjoy your surroundings and not race from A to B.

You MUST be an experienced open water swimmer and able to swim for 2 hours at a time.  Proof will be required. If you are unsure, please do ask. Swim experience is more important than speed.

18th-21st September 2026

Ladies only Bunkhouse Retreat

We are running a ladies only retreat this year. Sorry gents!

Highlights include:

  • Sunrise and sunset swims

  • Evening walk with our nature expert to listen out for nightjars and other nocturnal creatures

  • Daily yoga sessions

  • 2 relaxed swims a day

  • Breakfast and supper provided

The bunkhouse is on the beach at Brownsea Island. As you may know the island is only accessible by boat, so this is a real getaway. There are 4 dorms of 1 bunkbed & 1 single bed in each, room for 12 people in total.

Facilities are basic but comfortable. You will need to bring a sleeping bag and all your kit in a rucksack via the ferry. Your kit will be transported to the house once on the island. If you would like any further details please do email me and I can send you a link to the accommodation.

As with all Jurassic Coast Swimming events we will pack as much swimming in as possible, interspersed with lots of cake! We will provide breakfast and supper each day you are there, and lunch will be at the cafe on the island.

We will be making the most of swimming in these wonderful clear waters, choosing the safest and most fun locations depending on the weather. The emphasis is on a relaxed pace so experience and speed are not pre-requisites. The waters are quite fast and very tidal so some fun swooshes will be guaranteed along with a sunset swim on one of the evenings.

The cost includes 3 nights accommodation, all swims, safety crew & swim guides, swim hats, food except lunch, alcohol and any extra snacks you may need.
